Sandra and Carl: cause for celebration
Sandra and Carl’s day was finally here. After much planning and hard work everything was in place. Sandra works as a wedding coordinator at one of my favorite wedding locations in Niagara. So she was well used to the process but this time...the wedding was real. Really, really real. She was the one that got to walk down the aisle and sit at the big fancy table at the front of the room! For so many reasons I was excited for these two.
Their wedding day started off at the Pillar and Post naturally. Sandra and her girls were well on their way to be ready when I showed up. The nerves were pretty calm...Sandra is a pro BUT she was definitely bubbling over with excitement. It was a great morning hanging out taking photos and chatting. Meanwhile, Eva my second shooter was having a blast trying to get Carl and his guys ready, together and positioned in for a few photos.
Sandra’s details were beautiful; from her dress to her shoes to her jewelry and of course her smile! Before we left the Post we took a few photos around the side of the building. Not a spot that is commonly photographed but Sandra had plenty of time to scout that one out!
Their ceremony took place at the historic and stunning Gracewood Estates in Niagara- on-the-Lake. The air had a chill to it but nothing that could slow us down. The two exchanged vows under the the sloping branches of old fruit trees in a beautiful ceremony.
We spent the next while shooting family portraits and quite a few of the formal portraits on the sprawling estate. The historic home, the lane-way, the vineyards... so much to photograph! On our way back to Delphi Hall for the reception, we made a stop at the Old Printing Press at Queenston. The wedding party was a ton of fun. We had a great time celebrating and taking photos. I can’t imagine it any other way.
The celebration continued on into the reception. The hall was beautifully decorated and the speeches and proceedings of the reception did not disappoint. Sandra and Carl’s evening was capped off by a rocking dance party and one of the most hilarious photobooth sessions of the year!
Sandra and Carl are wonderful. They are gracious and kind, totally in love, and share the same sense of humor as me! I am so happy they chose me to photograph them as I thoroughly enjoyed my day with them.
I hope you enjoy these photos from their day.
Congratulations once again to Sandra and Carl!!!
